The purpose of the law is to allow companies to provide an avenue for employees to access earned but unpaid wages prior to their normal compensation date. The law, found in Section 361.749 of the Missouri Revised Statutes, authorizes the Division of Finance to license and regulate Earned Wage Access providers.
